Eviction Questions

If a tenant does not pay rent in Tennessee, can I evict them? If there are 75,000 residents or more in your county, follow the Uniform Residential Landlord and Tenant Act.  In smaller counties, issue at least 30 days’ notice in writing.  If the tenant does not vacate, file an action in the General Sessions Court. If the tenant does not vacate the property or appeal the case, then the landlord can request the sheriff to physically remove the tenant.
